About the course

How do we translate memory into images? How do fragments—discarded photographs, forgotten moments, overlooked details—come together to tell a compelling story? Working from Memory is an intensive two-day workshop designed for photographers, artists, and storytellers interested in exploring personal archives and the art of bookmaking. Through immersive discussions, hands-on exercises, and deep engagement with photobooks and artist books, participants will learn to shape narratives, edit and sequence work, and craft their book objects. The workshop moves beyond conventional storytelling, encouraging an intuitive, experimental approach where memory, materiality, and meaning converge.
