IDEASx: Where Interdisciplinary Ideas Take Flight

Imagine a vibrant space where scholars from diverse disciplines come together, not just to share knowledge, but to forge entirely new pathways for understanding the world. This is the essence of IDEASX, an online learning initiative powered by the Office of Inter Disciplinary Studies (IDEAS) at O.P. Jindal Global University.

IDEASX builds upon the legacy of IDEAS, a university-wide incubator for interdisciplinarity. We believe that the most groundbreaking discoveries often lie at the intersection of established fields. Our online platform offers a unique opportunity for researchers, students, and anyone curious about pushing boundaries to explore these fertile frontiers.

Through IDEASX, we offer a curated selection of workshops and courses led by renowned scholars and leading researchers. Our curriculum delves into cutting-edge methodologies, research design, and critical thinking skills – all designed to equip you with the tools to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of interdisciplinary scholarship. Whether you're a seasoned researcher seeking to broaden your horizons or a student yearning to explore new avenues of inquiry, IDEASX provides a platform to foster collaboration, challenge assumptions, and spark innovative ideas.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Who can attend these workshops?

Our workshops are open to students, researchers, artists, and anyone interested in exploring new skills and methods. While some workshops may be more relevant to particular disciplines (e.g., writing, photography, craft), we welcome interdisciplinary participation.

2. Do I need prior experience to join?

Not necessarily. Most of our workshops are designed to be accessible to beginners while offering depth for those with some prior experience. Check the specific workshop description for any prerequisites.

3. What should I bring with me?

Details vary by workshop. For writing workshops, a notebook or laptop is helpful. For craft-based or hands-on sessions (e.g., block printing, photography), materials are often provided, but you may be encouraged to bring personal items if you would like to experiment and explore, or some piece of writing or photographs. You'll be informed in advance.

4. Are these workshops theoretical or practical?

They are both. Our sessions are designed to blend conceptual discussions with hands-on exercises, allowing participants to not just learn ideas but apply them in real-time.

5. Will I get feedback on my work?

Yes! Workshops are structured to allow for peer-to-peer exchange and facilitator-led feedback, particularly in writing and visual storytelling sessions.

6. Is there a participation certificate?

Yes, participants who attend the full duration of a workshop and engage actively will receive a certificate of participation from IDEASx.

7. How do I register, and is there a fee?

Registration links are provided via our IDEASx Portal. Most workshops are free for enrolled students, but some may require a nominal materials fee to run this workshop, through the platform. Check each event page for details.

8. Can I showcase what I created during the workshop?

Yes! We encourage participants to share their work. Selected projects may be featured on the IDEASX website or social media, with your permission.

9. Are recordings or workshop materials shared afterward?

For writing, skills and theory-based workshops, key readings or slides may be shared as well as the recording for the online. However, due to the participatory nature of the sessions, we typically do not provide recordings.
