The Webinar is an introduction to MSc Development Practice program at the I.D.E.A.S -Office of Interdisciplinary Studies at OP Jindal Global University. MSc Development Practice is an interdisciplinary programme emphasizing theory, data and field-based learning to develop a well-rounded understanding of development practices. The one-year programme is divided into three trimesters, with five courses in each trimester. Classes are held in the afternoons and evenings (3 PM – 8 PM) on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. 

The courses offered include foundational subjects such as Theoretical Perspectives on Development, Political Economy of India’s Development, Poverty, Inequality, and Human Development, and State, Democracy, and Social Change. Research skills are developed through courses on Quantitative and Qualitative Research Methods, Data Visualization and Research Design. Students also gain practical expertise in Project Management and Evaluation, Data Analysis and Fieldwork/Immersive Learning. Academic Writing is integrated to strengthen communication and analytical skills. Additionally, electives will be offered over the last two trimesters. 

The program equips students with skills for employment in the development sector, offers practical experience through fieldwork, fosters innovative solutions to complex challenges, and conscientious them to address marginalized communities’ needs. Integrating theory with practice, the program equips graduates for careers in NGOs, government, international agencies, and academia while fostering transferable skills through internships and collaborative projects to enhance employability.
